Hello! I am Vin Sie Tan
I am an ADHD Life Coach and a Registered Counsellor based in Singapore.
I believe in creating collaborative and supportive spaces where you can reflect, connect, and actually start to see new possibilities. My work is deeply personal, grounded in my own lived experience with neurodivergence and an LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. This helps me bring a holistic, inclusive perspective to every conversation we have. Most importantly, I view my clients as naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. We aren't here to use a deficit-based model; we are here to build a partnership of discovery.
My path has been a bit of a journey. I’ve lived and studied across Singapore, Hong Kong, and North America, which gave me a really broad, multicultural worldview. I started out in international school settings before transitioning into clinical practice because I wanted to deepen the impact I was having.
That clinical background includes frontline crisis intervention at the Institute of Mental Health and, more recently, working as a counsellor at the National University of Singapore. In that role, I supported students through everything from acute psychological trauma to the complex everyday challenges of being a young adult.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in my mid-30s, and that changed everything for me. While I was doing my Master’s degree in my early 30s, I hit what I call an "executive function ceiling." Even with all my clinical knowledge, I struggled because the right kind of academic support just didn't exist.
Later, while working as a university counsellor, I saw the same pattern. I met so many brilliant students who were struggling with the rigors of university life, but there wasn't a single specialized ADHD coach on campus to help them. Seeing my own academic hurdles reflected in the unmet needs of my students was the spark for Atypical Coaching and Therapy. I founded this practice to provide the dedicated coaching and neuro-affirming support that helps young adults bridge the gap between their true potential and their daily reality.
“Working with Vin has been a deeply supportive and grounding experience. She creates a space that feels safe, calm and expansive, allowing me to fully process in my own way as someone who is a verbal processor, and I am not easy to coach. There is a sense of ease in sessions that allows the body to relax, which naturally opens the door to deeper reflection and insight. What sets Vin apart is the combination of her lived experience with ADHD, her coaching skillset and her therapy training. I consistently felt seen, understood and met exactly where I was, without pressure, but with clear and thoughtful guidance when needed. She brings a rare blend of presence, knowledge and genuine care. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for ADHD coaching that is both deeply attuned and highly effective.”
